Regular readers of the Weekendr will recall that every day is “Something” Day. Don’t worry, you didn’t sleep through it, but Friday, March 18, is World Sleep Day. Set your alarm.
Accordingly, The Langham Huntington is launching Sleep Matters by Chuan, a comprehensive global sleep wellness program developed in conjunction with the World Sleep Society. (Yes, there is one.)
The Sleep Matters by Chuan program has been developed in conjunction with the World Sleep Society’s mission—advancing sleep health worldwide with sleep medicine and scientific expertise.
The Langham Huntington Pasadena is featuring its Sleep Matters package—accommodations for up to two guests, a 60-minute Chuan Harmony massage with an aromatherapy enhancement, a packet of aromatherapy bath salts, earplugs, eye mask, and a SOM Sleep beverage.
The in-room turndown card with sleep tips also features a digital menu where you can take a “Find Your Element” Chuan questionnaire, practice breathing exercises, and learn about other available amenities for guests to borrow or purchase while on property, including yoga mat and ball, fitness kit, Tibetan Sound Bowl for meditation, kettle with herbal tea and healthy dining options, all hopefully before falling asleep.
As Allan O’Bryan, Executive Director of the World Sleep Society recently noted, “In today’s demanding world, regular healthy sleep is a critical foundation to a healthier future. This new global partnership with Langham Hospitality Group aligns with our aim to draw attention to the importance of good sleep for achieving a healthier everyday quality of life.”
“Sleep is one of the essential connections between our hotels and our guests,” said Bob van den Oord, Regional Vice President – Operations for North America, Europe and the Middle East of Langham Hospitality Group. “There is a direct link to guest sleep quality and their happiness with their hotel. Sleep Matters by Chuan is deliberately designed to enhance the wellness of our guests with new rituals and habits that they can take home and use long after they have stayed with us.”
Langham guests will have access to a broad selection of offerings at each location, including a Sleep Matters Turndown Kit with herbal tea; branded earplugs; cushioned sleep mask..
A Sleep Matters menu is also available, allowing guests to order a selection of wellness-related items during their stay, including a yoga mat and fitness ball for pre-sleep stretching; Weighted blankets, a selection of pillow options and white noise sleep machines, along with Chuan elemental oils and lavender bath products for a restful soak before bedtime.
Like to read before bed? There is also a special edition of the World Sleep Society Healthier Sleep Magazine, available in every guest room through a QR code, allowing guests to explore The Langham Hotels & Resorts website, including the Chuan Spa’s tips on restful breathing exercises. The magazine was specially curated for Langham and focuses on guest travel, with articles on healthy habits for healthy sleep, improving children’s sleep, jet lag recovery, circadian rhythms, mindfulness and other useful sleep wellness topics for those ready for bed.
How about your favorite sleepytime tunes? There is a specially curated Spotify list of favorite tracks from around the world to help guests relax as they get ready for sleep, available for download
Still awake? The pipeline program for Sleep Matters by Chuan also includes a collaboration with StimScience, a startup team of neuroscientists and inventors. Their first product will be Somnee, the only electronic headband to mimic and enhance the brain’s natural sleep patterns, safely and effectively improving sleep.
No one gets enough sleep. Here’s your chance to lead the pack.
