not-so sloppy joes
Here’s a healthier take on a classic. Made with ground turkey,
Equal sweetener, and sugar free tomato sauce, this version is
considerably lower in calories than regular. Give it a try. We think
your family won’t even notice the difference!
1 tsp vegetable oil
1 lb. ground turkey
1 small onion, chopped
1 can low or no sugar added tomato sauce (check the ingredients list)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp chili powder (to taste)
1 pkt Equal
8 white corn tortillas (Mission brand)
Brown onion in vegetable oil over medium high heat. Add turkey
and break apart. Cook until no longer pink. Reduce heat to low
and add tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and chili powder.
Wrap tortillas in foil and heat in a 250 degree oven for 10 minutes. Or microwave
in plastic wrap for 30-60 seconds. Put meat in tortillas, sprinkle
with your favorite cheese, and serve. Makes 4 servings.
